Establishment
Shirai Tetsuzō Museum (Shirai Tetsuzo Kinenkan) was established in April 1987, honoring the achievements and the virtues of Shirai Testuzō. He was a stage director of Takarazuka Revue and known as the king of revue. Haruno is his home town.
Contents
The museum exhibits about 600 pieces of items he used and documents related to the Takarazuka Revue. An audio tape recorded his profile is available here. In the garden there is an arch made by his favorite flower, Chinese trumpet vine, and a statue of him.
Remarks
Shirai is also well known as the writer of the lyric in “Sumire no Hana Sakukoro,” the theme song on the first Japanese revue “Parizette.” A stele of its lyric stands in the garden of former Haruno Minami Junior High School.
