Overview
Excavations in this site's huge moat revealed many artifacts belonging to the Kofun to Heian periods. The objects include mokkan (wooden strips used for writings), wooden katashiro (objects often used in purification rites), and a bokusho-doki (pottery decorated with ink writings and designs) written a person name "Inamaro". These findings are similar to those of the Iba Site and indicates that there ware literate facilities nearby. Therefore, it became clear that the ancient district head of Fuchi, seen in the Iba Site, had also power over this region.
The Ento-tachi, swords with a round pommel, decorated with gold and silver from the late Kofun period is invaluable and quite a rare article. This precious sword, which is thought to be sunk into a river as an offering, tells that there must have been a strong clan in the area.
